We definitely want to create movies that will appeal to many different niches,” Sunny Leone said. “We are releasing Vivid type quality films, so everyone who is watching will get something that is high quality but created by myself and my partner. Before SunLust Pictures’ DVDs hit the marketplace next year, Sunny Leone has three Vivid movies forthcoming, two that were directed by B. Skow and one from Paul Thomas. Since signing with Vivid in 2005, Sunny Leone exclusively performed in girl/girl scenes until she made her highly anticipated boy/girl debut in March in the B. Skow directed “Sunny Loves Matt,” with then-fiancĂ© Matt Erickson.
Sunny Leone did one more movie with Matt Erickson, the yet-to-be-released “The Other Side of Sunny.” The couple has since split up and Sunny Leone has worked with other male performers, most notably Tommy Gunn, Charles Dera and James Deen.
Sunny Leone’s ambitions reach further than moviemaking; she plans to delve into the world of apparel and lingerie with her own Sunny-branded lines.
“Right now everything is so new, but we are embarking on a possible apparel and lingerie line, which I have some great ideas for,” Sunny Leone said. “I’m also planning my favorite diamond jewelry line that I will be designing with one of the top diamond companies in the world.”
Sunny Leone said that she formed SunLust with the full support of Vivid CEO Steve Hirsch and plans to model her company after Vivid’s reputation for quality and consistency.
“Vivid is one of the largest companies in the industry,” Sunny Leone said. “If anything, I would want my product to be half as great as theirs. What we are creating is still in essence going to be a Vivid product. The difference is I am paying for all production, postproduction and advertising in alliance with Vivid. I love being a Vivid Girl and we are joining forces so that I can secure my future. Steve [Hirsch] is all about making sure we are OK and respects the fact that I want to move in this direction.”
On October 14, 2008 it was revealed that Sunny Leone cut her ties with her booking agent, LA Direct Models who prior to this had been the company responsible for booking her for photo shoots and her feature dance gigs. Sunny Leone says she is bringing it all in house no and everything is gong to go though SunLust pictures.
As part of her ongoing effort to exert more control over her career, Sunny Leone has announced that she is no longer with LA Direct Models. The stunningly beautiful Ms. Leone made the amicable split from LA Direct this week and plans to represent herself from this point on.
For those that don’t remember, Sunny Leone who for years has been under contract with Vivid has recently brokered a new deal which means she will do her own line of movies to be distributed by Vivid. Under the SunLust Pictures line, Sunny Leone will control the script, the casting - the whole shebang. Sunny Leone however still remains in bed with Vivid and they will distribute all of her movies through their existing distribution network (aka Pulse Distribution).
“I want to thank Derek and everyone at LA Direct for all they have done for me,” says Sunny. “They have helped me immensely with my career thus far and I am truly appreciative. Big things are happening for me right now and this is a good time to make the move.”
Sunny’s first DVD under her SunLust Pictures label will be released on January 1, 2009. Vivid will distribute the SunLust titles which will feature Sunny Leone and some of her sexiest girlfriends from the adult industry.
A few days after this news was released to the public, her former booking agent, LA Direct Models had something of their on to say on the subject. It was quite surprising and some might say down right unprofessional to publically call him out like that but here is what was said nonetheless.
Contrary to the press report issued by Ms Leone in the last few days, it would not be truthful to say that Ms Leone has departed the agency.
Rather, the agency has found it increasingly difficult to work with the new manager of Ms Leone and had reached the conclusion that things had reached a point at which it might be better for her to seek an alternate agency. This was then communicated to Sunny.
Since Sunny has been a professional of the first order, we of course wish her the very best as she continues in the business, the approximately two years that we worked together having been notable for many reasons, including the Bollywood movie Pirates Blood and the Fox Reality Show My Bare Lady 2. At all times Sunny conducted herself like a model professional, and a real role model for other actresses to emulate.
LA Direct Models wishes her the best of luck with her new production company.
